LBBD is offering a NEW Free Stop Smoking Service for those with a diagnosed common mental health condition. If this is you, make positive changes to your wellbeing today!
Research has shown that smoking can significantly impact both physical and mental health, as well as reduce the effectiveness of some medications. This new service is designed to offer accessible, evidence-based support to help residents make positive changes for their wellbeing.
Eligibility Criteria
- Over 18 years old
- Resident of Barking and Dagenham OR Registered with a GP in Barking and Dagenham
- Diagnosed with a common mental health condition such as depression, generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
- Patients can be referred if they have a serious mental health condition such as schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, and severe depression and is under the mental health and wellbeing team
What The Service Offers
- Up to 16-week one-to-one support programmes designed for people with mental health conditions
- Free nicotine replacement therapy (patches, oral products, vapes, gum, lozenges, mouth spray)
- Guidance on reducing or quitting smoking safely including a personalised plan
- Information on the health, wellbeing, and financial benefits of stopping smoking
