Family carers - those who support loved ones with conditions like dementia, autism, mental health needs, or chronic illness - are often excluded from health and care appointments, not properly supported and their insights overlooked, Healthwatch Barking and Dagenham wants to understand what needs to change to make services more inclusive and carer-friendly 

We want to hear from family carers living in Barking and Dagenham, particularly those who support elderly relatives or people with dementia, learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, or long-term illnesses

Continuing our work on women's sexual and reproductive health services 

We are pleased to be continuing our work around women's sexual and reproductive health services in Barking and Dagenham.  

Phase two our our work for this issues is underway, and we plan to showcase our findings from our recent report to local stakeholders and decision makers.  

Our previous report, Women’s reproductive and sexual health support experiences in Barking and Dagenham, published in October 2024, made a number of recommendations ranging from improving culturally sensitive care to reviewing the duration of appointments, and ensuring that all women feel heard during interactions with service providers.
