Enter and View Report: Tulasi Medical Centre

We carried out an Enter and View visit to Tulasi Medical Centre in Dagenham.

 Summary

  • Reception Services: Mixed views on receptionist helpfulness and competence. Concerns include difficulty booking appointments, inappropriate medical advice, and lack of privacy at the desk.
  • Appointments: Most are booked by phone, with issues like long wait times and limited availability. Same-day/emergency slots are hard to secure unless patients call precisely at 8 am. Patients often wait 5–50 minutes after arriving.
  • GP Experience: Continuity of care is a concern as patients rarely see the same GP. Some feel rushed during consultations and unable to address all issues. Trust in GPs varies.
  • Prescriptions: Repeat prescriptions are commonly needed, but some face delays and miscommunication.
  • Complaints: Awareness and resolution of complaints vary among patients.
  • Facilities: The waiting area is seen as small and uncomfortable.
  • Demographics: Feedback came from 11 patients and 3 staff, mostly aged 25–64, with a mix of White British/English and Asian/Asian British backgrounds. Many identify as carers or have long-term conditions. Most speak English fluently or natively.
